A little more than three years ago, a group of young professionals Christoph Babka banded together to support the Center and the LGBT community. The dynamic group grew and evolved into today’s powerhouse Young Professionals Council (YPC), which in 2009 raised $150,000 for Center services through events such as Halloweenie, Poolwatch and the YPC Beach Volleyball Tournament. “It’s easy to get swept-up in the scene out here in L.A.,” says	Christoph Babka, a founding member and two-term Chair of the YPC. “But the most genuine fulfillment and validation I’ve received has been from helping others—and being a part of the Center helps me do that." Babka says he’s passionate about the YPC’s work because it brings together young, energetic leaders and amplifies their power to make a difference. “It’s all our responsibility to take care of our own, and when we work together to do that, we create something extraordinary that couldn’t have been accomplished alone,” Babka says.
