Domestic abuse is a pattern of behavior in which a partner or former partner tries to control thoughts, beliefs or actions and may include physical, sexual and/or economic abuse. If your partner is abusive or if you are abusive to your partner, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's STOP Domestic Violence services can help you. Our services are provided by LGBT-domestic violence specialists, including certified domestic violence counselors and mental health professionals who have been trained in LGBT-domestic violence issues. Fees are based on a sliding scale, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
STOP Domestic Violence services include:
Survivor's groups Court-approved batterers' intervention program Short-term and ongoing individual mental health services Partner abuse prevention groups & workshops Referral to LGBT-sensitive shelters Prevention services for those at risk	Referral to LGBT-specific and LGBT-sensitive legal services Advocacy with law enforcement & criminal justice personnel and agencies, service providers and others Specialized assessment LGBT domestic violence training, education and consultation Crisis counseling
